Onward and Upward: Okta Named a Leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Access Management 2019
I’m incredibly proud to announce that earlier this week, Okta was named a Leader in Gartner’s third edition of their Magic Quadrant for Access Management report. In the report, we placed highest for both ability to execute and completeness of vision, making us the first vendor in the report’s history to do so.
We are also proud to be the only vendor who has been named a Leader in every iteration of Gartner’s evaluation of the Identity and Access Management space. Beginning with the Magic Quadrant for Identity-as-a-Service in 2014*, Okta has been building the future of Identity and innovating with our customers in mind. This is the third year in a row that Okta has been named a Leader in the Magic Quadrant for Access Management. Prior to the creation of this report, Okta had been named a Leader three times in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Identity-as-a-Service.
As this report evaluates access management solutions that support B2B, B2E, and B2C use cases, we see this as a testament to the power of the Okta platform. Gartner notes the significant overlap in functionality between Workforce Identity and Customer Identity, which is why the Gartner MQ covers Access Management across every type of user an organiSation may have. Okta is the only Leader that can provide a single, unified, access management platform to secure all users, including workforce, partners and customers. The Future is Hybrid
As the world’s largest organisations look to build their technology stack for the future, they need a vendor that not only understands the cloud, but can also help address their past: on-premises technology solutions. With legacy applications and environments remaining present amongst the enterprise, organisations need an identity and access management solution that can meet them where they are today.
Okta is the Leader uniquely positioned to support organisations looking towards a hybrid future. With new products like Okta Access Gateway, we’re extending the power of the Okta Identity Cloud to secure access to on-premises applications. Our customers are now able to centralise and manage both their on-premises and cloud applications—all through the power of the Okta Identity Cloud.
One Platform, Infinite Use Cases
Organisations are looking for new ways to customise their customers’ identity experience without compromising their organisation’s security. At Oktane19, we announced exciting new platform functionalities that will support the continued extensibility and flexibility of the Okta Identity Cloud. Through the power of Okta Hooks, our customers are able to define and customise their identity journeys and address an infinite amount of new use cases and integrations.
With our recent acquisition of workflow automation startup Azuqua, we’re also enabling our customers to automate these customised identity journeys. With pre-built application connectors, organisations will be able to quickly build automated workflows, providing seamless identity experiences for their employees and customers.
Customers are the Hero
Since Okta’s inception ten years ago, our success as a company has always been defined by the success of our innovative customers. This year, we were also thankful to be recognised as an April 2019 Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice for Access Management. Our customers are at the heart of everything we do, and we view this honour as further validation of our offering and vision.
We’re proud to be recognised for our customer experience by Gartner: “Okta received the highest score for the customer experience category. Customer comments widely complement the product’s ease of deployment and use.” As we continue to forge the future of identity, we’re thankful to have our amazing customers by our side every step of the way.
