Okta today announced it is embracing a partner-first growth strategy. This multi-year journey will elevate the role of partners across Okta, from sales and marketing to product development and customer service.
Why It Matters:
- Security is a partner-driven market. According to Canalys, 73% of global IT spending goes through partners, but that figure jumps to over 90% in cybersecurity.
- Identity is security. Identity-based attacks have become a top method for nation-state hackers and cybercriminals, with over 80% of breaches involving compromised credentials.
- Independent identity is a strategic control point for partners. Okta creates opportunities for partners to build best-of-breed security practices, expand consulting and advisory services, create frictionless customer experiences, and innovate on the Okta platform.
Jon Addison, Chief Revenue Officer, Okta: “Our partner ecosystem isn’t just an extension of our sales team—it’s a vital component of our growth and innovation strategy. We’re building a powerful ecosystem of the world’s foremost secure identity experts and application developers to free everyone to use any technology.”
Bill Hustad, Senior Vice President, Partner & Alliances, Okta: “We’re on a multi-year journey to become a world-class, partner-first company. We realize that embedding partners into the fabric of your company doesn’t happen overnight. We’re committed to evolving our go-to-market motion, co-investing across the ecosystem, and elevating the partner experience.”
What's New:
- Digital Partner Community: Okta is launching a central hub for partners to access the self-service resources and tools needed to grow their businesses. The new digital partner community includes on-demand education, just-in-time communications, self-service marketing automation, and project submission capabilities. It will also showcase partner solutions to customers and connect with sellers. These new capabilities will be introduced over the next several quarters.
