Las Vegas — Aug. 30, 2016 — Today at Oktane16 in Las Vegas, Okta, the leading provider of identity and device management, and Google announced a new, expanded partnership. Okta and Google will jointly deliver a flexible, multi-cloud reference architecture that enables large enterprises to securely deploy and manage Google Apps. Okta is a preferred partner for identity and will work closely with Google when building solutions for large enterprises that connect on-premises technology with modern, cloud-based applications. The two companies will accelerate large enterprises’ transition to a secure, multi-cloud, mobile-centric architecture.
“Enterprises today want the ability to choose the best combination of tools to move their business forward.” said Todd McKinnon, CEO of Okta. “Businesses want to leverage Google’s productivity applications, strong account security and multi-cloud infrastructure to get their best work done. Our alliance with Google will make it easy for customers in the large enterprise segment to securely bring on Google Apps so businesses can spend their time innovating instead of securing complex deployments.”
"New technologies are rolling out at a rapid pace and we're doing everything to help our customers easily adopt and adapt to the cloud,” said Diane Greene, senior vice president of Google’s cloud businesses. “Google and Okta are delivering a comprehensive set of productivity and collaboration tools for large enterprises everywhere, which will make the shift to the cloud smooth, and as we have seen with our current customers, a huge efficiency and cultural boost.”
The expanded partnership will benefit any large enterprise moving to the cloud and looking for modern productivity solutions. Customers including Teach for America, HBO, Broadcom, Avery Dennison, CBS and Brown-Forman, and News Corp are already using Okta and Google to securely collaborate in the cloud. Says Dominic Shine, Global CIO of News Corp, “News Corp can testify to the power of the Okta + Google alliance. When we migrated from legacy technology to the public cloud, Okta and Google shared the News Corp vision for flexibility, choice and a secure, productive experience. With the help of these two strategic partners, we’re operating faster, have increased collaboration, and unleased huge productivity gains.”
The agreement builds on Okta and Google’s existing partnerships with Google for Work and Android for Work. Tenets of the partnership include:
- Okta is a preferred partner for Google Apps Deployments in the Large Enterprise space;
- Okta and Google will introduce a flexible multi-cloud reference architecture enabling enterprises to securely deploy and manage access to enterprise cloud products;
- Okta and Google will equip global systems integrators (GSIs), Google resellers, and independent software vendors (ISVs) with training, tools and support enterprises need to accelerate their transformation to the cloud.
