Announcing Okta SSO for HashiCorp Terraform Cloud for Business
Companies of all kinds and sizes are adopting more cloud infrastructure and employing DevOps programs to streamline the delivery and operations of software. In doing so, they begin to foster a culture of automation that spans people, process, and technology. As a leading provider of open source technologies across the infrastructure landscape, HashiCorp enables teams to innovate faster, bringing new digital experiences to customers in a seamless and scalable manner. With the announcement of Okta SSO support for Terraform Cloud for Business, Okta and HashiCorp enable teams to continue innovating without compromising on security—aka moving fast without breaking things.
HashiCorp Terraform is an open source infrastructure-as-code (IaC) product for building, changing, and versioning infrastructure safely and efficiently. Many Okta customers have adopted HashiCorp Terraform as a mechanism to automate the provisioning of resources across their cloud environments—whether deploying to Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, other clouds, or an on-premises datacenter, Terraform can be a single control center to create and manage dynamic infrastructure resources.
We’ve made it easy for Okta customers to inject identity & access directly into their IaC in the form of certified Terraform Providers. Okta Administrators who wish to configure their orgs programmatically, can leverage the core Okta Terraform Provider to automate common tasks such as user and group management, SAML/OIDC app management, Sign On policies, and more. Developer and Operations teams can leverage the Okta Advanced Server Access Terraform Provider to automate least privilege access controls across the Linux and Windows cloud instances they provision across their dynamic hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
