Job Description
- Design and propose solutions to complex identity and security problems within the US Commercial segments for Okta's India Pre-Sales Innovation Center.
- Lead and coordinate efforts to develop optimal identity management and security solutions through live demonstrations, sales presentations, and proof of concepts (POCs).
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
- Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with account managers, customers and partners.
- Provide technical thought leadership.Maintain a broad and deep technical understanding of the Okta product line and underlying technologies and protocols.
Key Job Responsibilities
Own the design and development of identity and security solutions for the US Commercial segments, ranging from digitally native start-ups to scaling SMBs.
- Support customers along their sales journey by demonstrating the value of Okta technology through live demonstrations and sales presentations.
- Sell directly to IT managers, developers, product managers, and occasionally more senior executives across various industries.
- Showcase the value of Okta technology with a focus on workforce identity management, IAM, and related concepts.
- Execute well-defined, outcome-focused POCs.
- Maintain a broad and deep technical understanding of the Okta product line and underlying technologies and protocols.
- Occasionally participate in local and regional events, evangelizing Okta as a presenter and an attendee.
A Day in the Life
- Lead the conception and execution of intricate identity and security solutions.
- Collaborate with Account managers to review pipeline and staregise.
- Act as a primary point of contact for customers, engaging with them directly to understand their needs and provide tailored identity and security solutions.
- Continuous learning to become a trusted advisor to the customer.
- Foster robust relationships with key internal teams and customers.
- Drive strategic pre-sales initiatives within the team.

Over the last year, Okta in Bangalore has fueled our growth around the world. The Global Innovation Center Presales team has been a crucial part of this growth. We are expanding this team made up of exceptional high-performing individuals. In this team, you will focus on being a customer-facing solution engineer crafting identity and security solutions for commercial segments in the US, ranging from digitally native start-ups to scaling SMBs.
Basic Qualifications
- A minimum of 2-3 years of working experience in IAM or a related SaaS field as a pre-sales/post-sales/implementation engineer.
- Expertise or hands-on experience in IAM, single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, passwordless authentication, universal directory, privileged access, and device access is preferred.
- Experience working with REST APIs and SDKs.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas and solutions, incorporating white-boarding, practical examples, and product demonstrations.
- Experience in a customer-facing role such as consulting, customer support, or pre-sales.
- Strong relationship-building skills, listening skills, and time management skills.
- Ability to work in the US time zone.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with one or more authentication or authorization protocols (OAuth, OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, LDAP) and customer identity frameworks.
- Experience building web applications, incorporating both front-end and back-end languages/frameworks.
- Experience working with HTTP, HTML, and REST services, including the ability to use browser dev tools to explain HTTP traffic and an HTTP client (like curl or Postman) to interact with an HTTP service.
- Understanding of core security concerns within a typical application (password hashing, SSL/TLS, encryption at rest, XSS, XSRF).
- Engineering or MBA educational background.
