The ideal candidate for this position would be an experienced product marketer with an in-depth knowledge of the user experience, security, and digital transformation challenges of large financial services organizations. 

About the Role

Okta is seeking an Associate Product Marketing Manager to join our Competitive Intelligence (CI) team. This role involves researching and analyzing the Identity and Access Management (IAM) market to deliver actionable insights and competitive assets. As a key contributor to Okta's CI team, this role provides a unique opportunity to shape our strategic positioning in the security landscape. Your insights will directly influence product strategy and sales enablement.. Key Responsibilities

As a Product Marketing Specialist, Competitive Intelligence, you will:

  • Market Research & Analysis
    • Refine your expertise in Okta’s Identity Security portfolio and competitive landscape, particularly for ITDR and XDR solutions.
    • Research posture and exposure management products in the evolving security market.
    • Continuously track identity-based attacks (e.g., MITM, Credential Stuffing, Phishing) and mitigation strategies.
  • Content Creation & Enablement
    • Create competitive assets — battlecards, playbooks, briefs, and presentations — to showcase Okta’s security investments and partner ecosystem.
    • Maintain and update competitive intelligence resources for field enablement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Support security product launches and industry events by partnering with product management and engineering teams.
    • Assist sales teams with competitive positioning and strategic opportunities.

Qualifications

Must-Haves:

  • Strong understanding of XDR, ITDR, and related technologies.
  • Experience with tools like CrowdStrike, Zscaler, Palo Alto Networks, or Microsoft Defender.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA, SOC2, CIS).
  • Proven research and analytical skills to synthesize data into actionable insights.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an ability to create high quality competitive assets like battlecards and presentations.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Bonus Points For:

  • Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK and Zero Trust principles.
  • Familiarity with core security concerns (e.g., password hashing, encryption, XSS, XSRF).
  • Experience with IAM solutions and their integration with ITDR/XDR systems.
  • Cybersecurity certifications or industry experience in related fields.

Below is the annual On Target Compensation (OTE) range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual OTE, which is inclusive of base salary and incentive compensation, will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable) and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual OTE range for this position for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:$99,000$149,000 USD

Below is the annual salary range for candidates located in Canada. Your actual salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, RRSP with a match, healthcare spending, telemedicine, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual OTE (On Target Earning) range for this position for candidates located in Canada is between:$86,000$130,000 CAD
