About this role

Okta Digital is looking for a passionate Sr. UX Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate drives innovative, product storytelling digital experiences. You love working with brand guidelines, design systems, and collaborate well with cross-functional teams to get projects launched. You have experience in designing large-scale projects that require long-term, end-to-end thinking. You have both a strategic mindset to drive impactful design decisions that align with business goals, and proficiency in research methods to gather insights and inform design decisions. Reporting into the Principal UX Designer, you will help to tell the Okta story on our websites, always advocating for the User and meeting KPIs. 

This role will be instrumental in collaborating with the Marketing, Brand, and Analytics to craft digitally innovative and smart user experience solutions that meet requirements while pushing the brand. The right person for this role will have a solid understanding of how users think, behave, and interact with products or services.

What you will do

  • You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure designs align with brand objectives and deliver measurable results
  • Ensure understanding of project briefs and ability to craft thoughtful design solutions
  • Present and articulate rationale for ideas in a clear and concise manner
  • Keep track of, summarize, and share Success metrics Post-launch
  • Perform UX research to gather insights and inform design decisions.

What experience you have

Advanced Technical Skills

  • Expertise in modern UX tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
  • Expertise with design systems and codebases to maintain consistency across projects.
  • At Okta we believe in the motto “Show, don’t tell”. Must be willing to jump into Figma to inspire, brainstorm, explore, and create new and innovative solutions with the team.

Proficiency in research methods

  • Ability to interpret user behavior data, analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, Tableau), and raw data into optimized designs.
  • Knowledge of A/B testing and how to use data to validate hypotheses.

Strategic Visioning

  • Experience in designing large-scale projects or enterprise-level products that require long-term thinking.
  • Ability to balance creative freedom with strategic priorities (e.g., aligning user experience with business objectives).

Collaboration and Communication

  • Strong interpersonal skills to work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, developers, and content creators.
  • Ability to translate complex data or insights into clear, actionable design decisions.

User Empathy and Problem-Solving

  • Deep empathy for users, understanding their pain points and needs.
  • A mindset focused on solving real problems through innovative design solutions.

Iteration and Feedback

  • Strong understanding of how to gather feedback, iterate on designs, and refine solutions based on user testing.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies or other iterative design processes.

Below is the annual salary range for candidates located in Canada. Your actual salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, RRSP with a match, healthcare spending, telemedicine, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in Canada is between:$94,000$142,000 USD
