Okta seeks a Sustainability Project Manager to join our Global Workplace & Safety team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Design, Construction & Sustainability, you will work collaboratively across the Global Workplace & Safety team to bring our operational sustainability program to life. You will also partner closely with Okta’s ESG & Sustainability team to ensure alignment with Okta’s broader corporate Sustainability program.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead coordination of our LEED and WELL site certifications and ongoing maintenance. Develop a strategy for the points we pursue, building upon the existing framework of our LEED and WELL Silver certifications. 
  • Lead the development of Okta’s Environmental Management System (EMS). Manage cross-functional project teams of internal stakeholders and external consultants.
  • Develop our sustainable food and waste program with Okta’s site operations team.
  • Own reporting and tracking of all site utility data for our annual greenhouse gas inventory
  • Partner on annual disclosures such as the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) and Okta’s ESG reporting
  • Evaluate & monitor indoor air quality (IAQ) data across our sites. Develop employee engagement strategy around IAQ.
  • Lead Earth Week employee engagement, including virtual and onsite events  
  • Manage Okta’s renewable electricity purchases for scope 2 and remote workers 
  • Manage the workplace sustainability budget
  • Represent Okta externally with relevant industry coalitions and internally to Okta employees where appropriate. This includes managing the internal communications through the Workplace Sustainability website.
  • Research innovative construction materials, products, and tools that assist in achieving overall project sustainability, as well as green building certification systems.
  • Apply relevant standards and frameworks (e.g., SASB, GRI, SDGs) to Okta’s Workplace environmental sustainability efforts

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of sustainability experience
  • Experience in operational sustainability (eg, LEED / WELL, sustainable food, renewable electricity)
  • Experience collecting site utility data and familiarity with the GHG Protocol 
  • Highly skilled in data analysis, building programs, stakeholder and employee engagement
  • Exceptional project management skills
  • Ability to work as a team player in a cooperative environment, as well as effectively working independently
  • Adept at synthesizing complex inputs from multiple stakeholders

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:$103,000$172,000 USD The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between: $128,000$192,000 USD
