Executive Communications Senior Manager, Auth0

Okta is hiring an experienced executive communications manager and technical storyteller to drive all aspects of communications for the Auth0 Product Unit’s President. You will develop and deliver strategic communications that will elevate Okta and Auth0 as the identity standard in the market. 

You will write and manage external and internal communications to elevate our posture as thought leaders while increasing visibility through targeted, consistent communications that resonate different audiences. This role is hands-on, and you will source and distill complex technical information into simplified messaging that resonates across broad internal and external audiences and channels.  

This high-output role requires disciplined execution, attention to detail, and a proven track record for delivering high-quality, engaging technical communications for C-level executives. 

This role will be a part of a forward-thinking Corporate Communications team committed to delivering exceptional and creative communications to drive awareness of Okta’s strategic value, boost productivity, and keep employees aligned and connected to our company vision and values. What you’ll be doing

  • Strategy Build & Execution: Develop and advise on external and internal executive communication strategies for Auth0 Product Unit’s President and executives in support of key business priorities; Actively manage and implement tactics in partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Technical Writing & Storytelling: Research and develop unique content on technical topics, including blogs, newsletters, keynote addresses, video scripts, all hands, whitepapers, and internal correspondence, in the tone and voice of a leader.
  • Thought Leadership: Position Auth0’s Product Unit President as an industry leader by crafting high-impact thought leadership campaigns that resonate with developers and customers.
  • Internal Communications: Manage Auth0 product unit internal communications, such as all hands, town halls, change communications, crisis communications, and product announcements.
  • Content Calendar Management:  Establish and manage a content calendar for all communications for the Auth0 product unit to ensure communications are delivered to the right audience, at the right time, and through the right medium.
  • Collaboration: Actively partner with the Global Communications Team, Auth0 Product Unit stakeholders, and across Okta’s People, Workplace, Business Technology, Legal, and Investor Relations to ensure alignment of messaging, timing, and editorial strategies.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Ensure strategic alignment on messaging, timing, and editorial strategies across Auth0, Corporate Communications teams and leaders.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish KPIs to measure communications effectiveness, provide regular performance reports, and make data-driven decisions to optimize strategies.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • 10+ years of relevant technical and executive communications experience, ideally owning an executive thought leader profile.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communications, storytelling, and presentations in the tone and voice of technical leaders.
  • Experience in Identity and Accessibility Management (IAM) and writing compelling content for developer/ engineering audiences.
  • An understanding of Okta and Auth0’s business and competitors with experience working with cloud and/or SaaS companies. 
  • Ability to interpret complex technology information and translate it into bold, compelling, and distinctive content that resonates across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing communications strategies to increase awareness and visibility of leaders or products.
  • Collaborative approach to working with the ability to interact with and influence at all levels, including executive leadership.
  • Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple, high-profile, and confidential projects and deliverables.
  • Agile and adaptable to change in a fast-paced, remote environment while multitasking, re-prioritizing projects, and communicating priority updates to stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel 15% of the time, at minimum. 

Additional preferred experience

  • Social media and SEO experience.
  • Advanced slide design skills. Able to design visually appealing slides that convey information to an audience in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Experience developing videos, graphics, and other engaging content.

The OTE range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between:$163,000$245,000 USD

Below is the annual On Target Compensation (OTE) range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual OTE, which is inclusive of base salary and incentive compensation, will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable) and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual OTE range for this position for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:$146,000$218,000 USD

Below is the annual salary range for candidates located in Canada. Your actual salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, RRSP with a match, healthcare spending, telemedicine, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual OTE (On Target Earning) range for this position for candidates located in Canada is between:$132,000$198,000 CAD
