The Role
We are seeking a self-motivated Product Analyst with a proven track record in supporting technical teams for security and thriving in the dynamic atmosphere of a rapidly growing technical organization. In this role, you will focus on the technical aspects of platforms, working closely with the Business Technology Engineering Services and Enterprise Security teams. You will play a key role in driving the scope and success of security programs by collaborating with engineers to optimize security performance, identifying trends, and making data-driven recommendations to enhance product capabilities. Additionally, you will solicit feedback from stakeholders across the company to capture requirements and ensure the success of security initiatives. From an operational standpoint, the successful candidate will adhere to best practices and demonstrate advanced security knowledge within Business Technology ecosystems, particularly concerning Okta and its end users.
Job Title: Product Analyst - Security
Job Summary: We seek a detail-oriented and motivated Product Analyst focusing on security to join our Engineering Services team. This role is critical in bridging the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring security remains a cornerstone of our SaaS, cloud, productivity, and endpoint applications. The Product Analyst will evaluate business needs, define technical and security requirements, and drive improvements in our security programs. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, skilled in communication, and experienced in implementing security best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements Gathering & Analysis:
- Define technical, business, and security requirements for projects and systems.
- Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, and identify areas for improvement.
- Translate complex technical requirements into functional specifications and user stories.
- Help teams maintain focus and alignment with project goals, ensuring adherence to agreed deliverables and minimizing deviations from scope.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across the company, including IT, engineering, and security teams.
- Collaborate with department leadership to align key stakeholders' and partners' needs and expectations with security priorities.
Security Program Support:
- Partner with security teams to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation strategies.
- Help develop and maintain incident response playbooks and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Identify and track key metrics to measure the success of security programs.
Project Management Support:
- Fill backlogs and prioritize initiatives based on project objectives, requirements, and resource constraints.
- Define and uphold project roadmaps, working closely with program managers and technical teams.
Documentation & Training:
- Develop runbooks, procedure manuals, and other documentation to support cross-training and operational readiness.
- Educate teams on security practices and ensure adherence to security policies.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on the latest security trends, tools, and frameworks relevant to SaaS, cloud, and endpoint applications.
- Proactively recommend process enhancements and technical solutions to improve the organization’s security posture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 10+ years of experience in a product management or analyst role, ideally with a focus on security.
- Strong understanding of security fundamentals and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS).
- Experience working with IT security tools such as Okta(IGA, PAM), EDR, DLP, and MDM, as well as SaaS platforms like Salesforce, Microsoft 365, and Google Workspace.
- Ability to translate technical requirements into actionable business insights and functional documentation.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in tools like Jira and Confluence for managing requirements and project tracking.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python preferred) and REST APIs is a plus.

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies.
