Michael A. Clauser
As Director of US and Canadian Federal Government Affairs, Mike Clauser educates, advocates, and celebrates Okta before government policy- and lawmakers on critical issues ranging from cybersecurity to data privacy, to artificial intelligence. He was elected Executive Chair of the Veterans Community @Okta employee resource group. Before Okta, Mike held leadership roles in global technology policy and government affairs as a principal at Access Partnership, a leading global tech policy consultancy; Analog Devices, the digital signal processing semiconductor manufacturer; and Fujitsu Limited, the Japanese IT service conglomerate. He's held non-profit board seats on the Enterprise Cloud Coalition, Information Technology Industry Council, and the U.S. Information Technology Office.
Prior to joining the private sector, Mike served as the national security aide to a senior U.S. congressman and was twice a presidential appointee in the Pentagon. A veteran of Operation Inherent Resolve, he spent a decade as an Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Navy's Information Warfare Corps where he led sailors and civilians, including underway as a carrier air wing Targeteer afloat. Mike completed his undergraduate studies at Penn State and holds master's degrees from the US Naval War College, Poznan University of Economics in Poland, and the University of Exeter in England, in addition to a variety of international data protection certifications. Mike is a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He earned the Eagle Scout rank in his youth and volunteers locally.
