Okta and Hiring Our Heroes: Empowering veterans through the Department of Defense’s SkillBridge
At Okta, we highly value the unique skills and attributes veterans bring to the table. We understand that excellence is ingrained in the military ethos, and we believe veterans possess skills invaluable in driving our mission.
That’s why we’ve partnered with Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) to become a host company for active service members participating in the U.S. Department of Defense’s (DoD) SkillBridge program. We welcome this opportunity to give back to the military community and support veterans transitioning to civilian life.
About SkillBridge and Hiring Our Heroes
SkillBridge is an opportunity for service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through industry-specific training, apprenticeships, or internships during their last 180 days of service.
HOH is a program launched by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation to help members of the U.S. military community find meaningful employment opportunities. HOH works closely with employers across different sectors, like Okta, to connect them with qualified military talent. Through Hiring Our Heroes, participants join host companies on a cohort basis for 11 weeks.

Okta’s commitment to veterans
Our fellowship allows veterans to hone their existing skills and acquire new ones that will benefit their civilian careers, whether at Okta or elsewhere. Each cohort receives support from a dedicated team, including a colleague from their assigned department, a mentor from VeteransCommunity@Okta, and the ongoing support of an Okta recruiter.
