Okta named a Leader in Gartner® Access Management Magic Quadrant™ for the 7th consecutive year

We are honored to share that Okta is recognized by Gartner® as a Leader in their 2023 Magic Quadrant™ and are proud of our longstanding Leadership in this report. Okta has been a Leader in this report every year since the first Access Management Magic Quadrant™ was published in 2017. 

Why we’re a leader again

This year marks not only the seventh year in a row that we’ve been named a Leader in the Access Management Magic Quadrant, but also the third year in a row that Okta was placed highest in the Ability to Execute axis. 

For Ability to Execute, Gartner analysts evaluate vendors on the quality and efficacy of the processes, systems, methods, or procedures that enable IT vendors to be competitive, efficient, and effective. Specifically, vendors are evaluated for the breadth and depth of Access Management features, richness of support for a wide range of applications, different types of identities, and controls demonstrated to help ensure the continuity, security, and privacy of customers and their data. 

Our commitment to innovation 

At Oktane in October, we announced many new offerings that further cement Okta as a company relentlessly focused on innovation and delivering for our customers. And you guessed it, much of this innovation is centered around AI. We are just scratching the surface of how this technology will impact business and our daily lives. One thing we do know at Okta is how critical Identity management will be in this new AI-centric world. 

One of the many innovations launched at the show was Identity Threat Protection with Okta AI. Customers can now detect and rapidly respond to Identity threats across their enterprise tech ecosystem. And, as a first in the industry, offers Universal Logout, which immediately logs users out of all integrated applications when there is any threat detected, truly a game-changer for customers looking to double down on employee identity protection. All of these capabilities are built with Okta AI, which ingests massive amounts of data from our integration network and powers real-time security actions.

In this year’s Magic Quadrant™ report, we were pleased to see mentions of other recent Okta innovations, like our phishing-resistant MFA from Okta FastPass and FedRAMP High Authorization to Operate. While we are certainly thrilled to be a perennial leader in this analyst research, we’re not content to rest on our laurels and are continuing to invest in our products and platform to stay ahead of the market and customer needs.

But it’s not just the analysts who recognize us as a Leader, either. Earlier this year, we were recognized as a Gartner® Peer Insights™ Customers’ Choice for Access Management — a recognition that is exceptionally meaningful to us, as it is based solely on customer reviews.
