Okta Achieves FedRAMP® High Authorization
As the leader of Okta’s US Public Sector business, my top priority is supporting government agencies as they modernize IT to improve efficiency and service delivery. This includes adopting zero trust to strengthen cyber posture and prevent fraud. Throughout every interaction, a consistent theme emerges: Identity is critical to the success of their missions.
The Federal ICAM policy (OMB M-19-17) supports that theme too. It crystallizes Identity as the enabler of mission delivery, trust, and safety of our Nation, stating, “identity management has become even more critical to the Federal Government's successful delivery of mission and business promises to the American public.”
That’s why agencies today categorize Identity and access management systems as High Impact under FISMA. Identity is so vital that any loss of confidentiality, integrity, or availability could cause a catastrophic adverse effect on mission outcomes. Therefore, agencies need an industry leader and trusted partner committed to High Impact Identity management. That’s Okta.
Okta achieves FedRAMP High authorization
Today, we reached an exciting new milestone in our ongoing commitment to the Federal government: Okta for Government High, our modern Identity platform built exclusively for the US Federal government and its mission partners, achieved a FedRAMP High Impact level authorization.
Okta for Government High covers both Federal enterprise Identity and public Identity use cases, enabling agencies to modernize and adopt the cloud, accelerate zero-trust architectures, and improve online service delivery for the American people — all at the highest level of assurance.
It complements Okta for Government Moderate, our FedRAMP Moderate Impact platform that now has 270 authorizations in the FedRAMP Marketplace. And it joins Okta for US Military, which achieved a DoD Impact Level 4 (IL4) Provisional Authorization (PA) and can service IL5 workloads and applications.

We’ve helped agencies like the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services transition to the cloud, increase agility, and improve service delivery.
We also build trust and transparency in everything we do. The Okta Trust Center details our unique approach to continuous security, system availability, and industry-standard service certifications and attestations like ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2 Type II, and CSA STAR Level 2.
