Oktane20 Live: Identity Stories, Straight From Our Customers
Nothing is more important than the health and safety of the Okta community, so Oktane20 is going virtual this year—available to anyone, free of charge. We couldn’t be more excited to share our great lineup of speakers, trainings, and networking opportunities. Check out the full, updated agenda on oktane20.com.
This year, former Secretary of State Colin Powell joins us for a keynote, along with Sam Esmail, creator, producer, writer, and director of Mr. Robot, Esther Wojcicki, the Godmother of Silicon Valley—educator, journalist, leader, and best-selling author, and Amy Poehler, Writer, Executive Producer, and Best-selling Author.
As always, Okta customers also play a starring role. Be there as they share real-world experiences with Okta products in dynamic, interactive sessions. Listen as they explore how Okta’s latest innovations on the Okta product roadmap will better enable their organizations.
Workflows for Lifecycle Management with Discount Tire
Benarjeey Reddy, IAM technical analyst and Brent Wiley, system engineer and IAM lead at Discount Tire have been breaking ground with our new Okta Workflows product. They will share that work with us, demonstrating how their team is automating complex identity processes without adding code complications. In this session, you’ll learn about common use cases, as well as the Workflows vision and roadmap.
Tidying Up IAM with Okta
The most technologically advanced companies can struggle with legacy systems. The most efficient emergency response teams can get held back by clunky technology.
Before Okta, Cypress Semiconductor and Mercy Corps faced complex onboarding processes and work environments marked by persistent IT obstacles. In this session, Brad Burton, director of IT at Cypress Semiconductor, and Brad Goettemoeller, enterprise architect at Mercy Corps, team up to talk about how they have simplified and secured their IT environments.
The Road to Rethinking Active Directory
Reducing reliance on Microsoft Active Directory (AD) is a daunting but rewarding task. In this session, we present a framework for overcoming this modern challenge as well as stories from the front lines. Chris Sanchez from Zoro, and Pawan Shah and Kelsey van Haaster from Thoughtworks talk about where they are on that journey, how they got there, their tips and tricks, and the benefits they’re seeing today.
How FedEx Delivers Zero Trust Security at Scale
FedEx is a 500,000-member company with a dynamic, constantly fluctuating perimeter. The idea that its architecture could be secured by traditional means seems ludicrous by today’s standards, so its cybersecurity team has taken a Zero Trust approach.
For this session, we welcome a FedEx panel: Pat O’Neil, cybersecurity fellow; Trey Ray, cybersecurity manager; and Prashanth Karne, cybersecurity principal. They’ll talk about Zero Trust and how it’s helping FedEx achieve its mission of connecting people with goods, services, and ideas.
To get there, they deployed Okta for workforce identity at scale, replacing legacy on-prem web access management, multi-factor authentication, and federation solutions. Today, FedEx team members are the company’s perimeter, connecting securely and seamlessly to devices, applications, and services, which frees them to focus single-pointedly on that core mission.
