Announcing Our First Women in Tech Panel and Breakfast at Oktane16

Every year at Oktane, we seek to do more than improve our products and showcase our newest technologies — we also strive to make ourselves better as a company and as individuals. And this year is no exception.

We’re pleased to announce our first ever Women in Tech panel and breakfast, where we’ll welcome leading women in technology to discuss leadership development, tactics and skills in an intimate setting.

I’m looking forward to moderating the panel, which will feature:

  • Michelle Wilson, former senior vice president and general counsel at Amazon.com and member of Okta board of directors
  • Elena Seiple, executive director of IT security operations and engineering at MGM Resorts International
  • Christine Sullivan, vice president of IT at City Year
  • Jay Shankar, head of global customer support at Adobe

At Okta, we’re committed to fostering an environment that embraces and cultivates diversity, where everyone can participate and succeed, and it’s a priority we want to encourage our customers and partners take on as well. During the discussion, we’ll talk about talent development, strategies for management and career growth, and the importance of making (and communicating) risky technology decisions. And you’ll have the chance to network with your peers from some of the world’s most innovative companies.

This event will sponsored by Women @ Okta, which provides a platform to educate, support and ultimately improve gender diversity at Okta, led by myself and our Chief of Staff and SVP of Operations Angela Grady.

All Oktane attendees are invited and encouraged to join us from 7:30-8:30am on Tuesday, August 30 (right before the opening keynote from our co-founder and CEO Todd McKinnon) to learn more about growing a diverse team. And if you haven’t signed up to attend Oktane16, there’s still time — register here!
