Okta’s New Integration with Box for EMM: Don’t Leave Your Data to Luck
Today Okta announced we will support contextual access management with Box for EMM. This new integration seamlessly connects end users to their Box data on mobile and enforces contextual access policies that secure Box at every endpoint. With Okta and Box for EMM, users now have one touch access to the files needed to do their job, and IT organizations get centralized control and visibility into where data is stored and how it is accessed. We’ve always had a strong partnership with Box — it’s the third most popular application in our network — and we’re confident this integration will encourage new and existing customers to support a more connected, mobile workforce.
In honor of St. Patrick’s day and the four-leaf clover, we thought we’d share four ways you can take advantage of this new partnership and ensure you don’t leave your data protection to luck.
Enable BYOD Devices For users, our partnership means that any device can be brought into the workplace to access enterprise data. We’re starting with mobile devices, but soon we’ll add laptops and desktops so anyone can access Box from anywhere. By bringing on Okta and Box for EMM, IT is better positioned to enable BYOD across an organization.
One Policy for Access Everywhere With Okta’s expertise in managing identity across applications and touch points, IT can provision and manage access to Box from any endpoint with a singular policy.
Ensure Compliance on Mobile Devices This partnership also allows IT to restrict Box usage to company-approved mobile devices. With Okta Mobility Management, IT can ensure that devices are in compliance with security policies set by the organization.
Improve Data Loss Prevention Now IT can alleviate any concerns about data leakage on personal devices when an employee leaves the company. With Okta and Box for EMM, when users are deactivated in Active Directory or HR applications, Okta can automatically de-provision Box from all of the employee's mobile devices.
If these aren’t four additional reasons to celebrate today, the Okta and Box for EMM integration will be available on March 23, 2016. Check out our demo video to see it in action and for more details read Box’s blog post or visit our site: okta.com/box/emm.
